A package of support for fishermen facing crippling fuel costs will go before the EU Fisheries Council today (Tuesday).
And Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment Richard Lochhead will be in Brussels to fight the corner of the Scottish industry.
Mr Lochhead said "Our fishermen are facing extremely difficult times due to the high price of fuel. We have promised to do what we can to help and we want the UK and European governments to do the same.
"Today I will once again be fighting our industry's corner in Brussels. Scottish fishermen must reap the full benefit of any help forthcoming from Europe."
