One of Britain's most successful food supply chain operations gained further international recognition with the presentation of a third Queen's Award for Enterprise to J.Marr (Seafoods) Ltd by the Lord Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire, Mrs Susan Cunliffe-Lister at the company's Hessle headquarters.
The 2008 award is for International Trade and the handover was attended by the company's international fish trading team, headed by managing director Michael Moore, and directors and other members of staff of parent group Andrew Marr International Limited.
The continued trading success is attributed to the trust built up over many years between the seafoods company and its customers and suppliers. Group chairman Andrew Marr said "The growth in J. Marr (Seafoods)' export trade to West Africa has been particularly impressive in recent years and we are all proud of our trading team's outstanding achievement. The Queen's Award is greatly respected in our overseas markets "
Michael Moore said the J.Marr (Seafoods) business is underpinned by a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals who are able to handle every aspect of the supply chain from beginning to end.
"The company's strategy has been to focus on adding value to our relationships with suppliers and customers alike and to measurably increase their satisfaction.
"Teamwork has been an essential factor in this achievement and clearly demonstrates our passion and commitment to developing international trade." he said.
