With a soft texture and delicious taste, Cornish Sardines from award-winning Devon company Hannaford's are now available nationally through Nisa stores, independent retailers and online. Sardines, one of the unsung heroes of the sea, are highly nutritious and packed full of key nutrients such as Omega 3, calcium, protein and iron.
"Sardines are one of the most versatile and nutritious ingredients that we work with and we have created a simple recipe to enhance the naturally strong flavour of the fish. We source all our Sardines from Cornwall and present them filleted and in an easy to cook format with garlic and herb farmhouse butter, this simplicity captures the delicious flavours," said Ali Hannaford from Hannaford's.
Hannaford's is known for creating fine quality hand-made recipes using only the best ingredients. Its Florentine Fish Pie wowed judges at the Great Taste Awards in 2007 and Ali and her team of in-house chefs work hard in their Devon kitchens to develop recipes which allow the individual flavour of the ingredients to shine through. Hannaford's has a strict sourcing policy and works closely with fishing ports and suppliers in the South West.
Ali continued: "We are incredibly lucky at Hannaford's to be surrounded by some of Britain's best coastlines and agricultural land, and this has played a big part in our continued success. From Cornish Sardines to West Country Brown Crab meat and Mendip Hills Cheddar, we work closely with our local suppliers and producers to bring a true taste of the West Country to our recipes."
Available in Nisa stores, online at www.hannafords-online.co.uk and in independent retailers throughout the Country, Hannaford's Cornish Sardines with Garlic and Herb Butter are packed in boxes of six and have a retail price of £4.99.
