YOUNG'S Seafood has joined the NewYear dieting trend by launching a new range of low calorie fish based meals from its Grimsby-based production centre.
The specially labelled Light and Easy frozen ready meals are targeting the health conscious consumer and supported by a £500,000 marketing campaign. The range consists of seven recipes, all low in fat with 30 per cent less fat than Young’s standard range of meals - and all under 300 calories per serving.
One of the reasons why fish is becoming so popular in the UK is that it is already seen by nutrionists as a healthy low fat and low calorie food, especially when compared with red meats like beef, pork and lamb.But research shows consumers also like their fish in convenient ready meal form.
The company says they provide convenience with no compromise on taste, the new products can be cooked in either the microwave or oven. They add to the success of Young’s ready meals range which consist of the best selling ready meal in the country, Admiral’s Pie. The new dishes inclde smoked haddock bake, salmon crumble and fish bakes with various vegetables.
As with all Young’s products, Young’s Light & Easy offers the reassurance of the Young’s ‘Fish for Life’ label – confirming that the dishes are made with fish that has been responsibly sourced.
