UK: Andrew Marr International acquires Fastnet Fish Group
Andrew Marr International Ltd. (AMI), whose headquarters are at Hessle, near Hull, has acquired Murray Vernon Holdings’ controlling interest in the Fastnet Fish Group based in Grimsby, according to a company statement.
AMI already has extensive worldwide fish trading interests through its subsidiaries - J. Marr (Seafoods) Ltd., Almarr Seafoods Ltd. and Marr Continental A/S - and the acquisition of Fastnet will greatly strengthen the Group’s current trading activities.
Fastnet’s core business includes the sale and distribution of white fish fillets and important interests in the top end of the shrimp and langoustine trade.
Peter Doswell, Fastnet’s founder, together with Paul Birch, Andrew Weightman, Peter Hamling and Tony Osborne have successfully built up the business over the past 20 years and will continue to run it as an independent company within the AMI Group.
Roger Johnson, AMI’s managing director, said: “Fastnet’s activities are a natural fit, complementing AMI’s current trade whilst also providing real long term growth opportunities.”
Andrew Marr, Chairman of AMI, said he was delighted to welcome the talented Fastnet team into his family’s group and is confident that the acquisition will provide benefits to both suppliers and customers alike.
